The Muhlenberg men's lacrosse team broke the school record for goals in a season in a 14-8 loss at Washington College.
The eight goals gave the Mules 154 for the season, breaking the mark of 150 set 13 years ago, with three games left on the schedule. They had already set a new standard for assists in a season and added to that with six more.
Sophomore
Jack Colt and freshman
Nate EmrickÂ
(pictured above) led Muhlenberg (10-3, 2-3) with two goals apiece. Senior
Niko Del Moro recorded two assists, and freshmen
Ethan Grossman and
Brandon Moyer contributed a goal and an assist apiece.
The Shoremen (8-4, 3-2) broke an early 1-1 tie by scoring three straight goals, and the Mules played from behind the rest of the way. They got to within two scores, at 6-4, on a goal by sophomore
Frankie Feaster midway through the second quarter, but Washington netted the next four goals to pull away.
Feaster was 16-for-25 in the faceoff X and picked up five ground balls. Del Moro (6) and junior
Steve Chenworth (5) both set career highs in ground balls.
