CLERMONT, Fla. - Swarthmore College Softball opened the 2022 campaign as they split a pair of games on Saturday in Florida. The Garnet fell to the University of Dubuque, 11-3, while knocking off Eastern Nazarene College, 11-2.
Olivia McClammy went 2-for-3 from the plate with an RBI single, while
Alexandra Simon added a pair of hits for the Garnet.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Garnet opened the scoring in the bottom of the first inning, but the Spartans put up a four spot in the top of the second.
Brooke Coneeny roped an RBI single to score
Gwen Glatz and Coneeny scored in the bottom of the first as
Olivia McClammy knocked her in on a single.
-Swarthmore added a run in the third inning as
Kate Hart tallied an RBI single.
- Simon led the way with two doubles, while
Sam Hastings added one for Swarthmore.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Swarthmore wasted no time getting the bats going as they scored two runs in the top of the first inning. Simon knocked in Glatz as
Laura Hirai advanced to third on the ground out to second. McClammy notched an RBI double to score Hirai as Swarthmore took a 2-0 lead.
- Hirai added an RBI triple to score Glatz in the top of the third. The Garnet continued to pile on as McClammy roped a homer to give Swarthmore a 6-1 lead.
Flannery McFadden added an RBI triple to score Hastings and Coneeny as the Garnet took an 8-1 lead into the bottom of the third.
- McClammy added some insurance runs for
Meg Ozawa as she recorded her second home run of the game.
Grace Taylor made it an 11-2 Swarthmore lead in the fourth inning with an RBI single.
