NEW LONDON, Conn. (Dec. 7, 2022) – After three invitationals to start the 2022-23 campaign, the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy wrestling team competed against the 16th-ranked U.S. Coast Guard Academy in the first dual meet of the season for both teams. The Bears (1-0) defeated the Mariners (0-1) by a 47-3 margin.
 
Sophomore Reid Garrison (Broadway, Va.) earned the lone victory for the Mariners. The 285-pounder registered an 11-7 decision to put USMMA on the board.

The Mariners return to action on Dec. 11 at the Nassau Open hosted by Nassau Community College in Garden City, N.Y. Action begins at 9 a.m. Any live links for the event will be posted on the USMMA Wrestling Schedule Page prior to action getting underway.
