SWARTHMORE, Pa.–The Swarthmore college women's indoor track and field team began its season today at the Jack Pyrah Invitational hosted by Villanova University on the campus of Haverford College.

Jen Beltran placed second among a field of Division I competitors in the 800-meter run with her time of 2:22.73, which is currently the second-fastest mark in Division III. In the shot put, sophomore
Claire Conley recorded the invite's third-farthest throw, sending the shot a distance of 10.38 meters.

Lilly Price placed fourth in the mile in 5:28.24, two places ahead of senior Meghan Kelly, who finished in 6:25.80. Classmates
Phoebe Whiteside and Hannah Gutow finished fourth and fifth in the 3k with respective times of 11:24.70 and 11:31.70. In the 60-meter sprint,
Kayla Camacho was Swarthmore's top finisher in 8.19 seconds.
The team returns to competition in 2018 with the Coach I Open at Franklin & Marshall on Saturday, Jan. 13.
