EWING, N.J.—No. 14 Swarthmore College Men's Swimming, competing with a smaller squad of just 14 swimmers, still finished in second place at the TCNJ Invite from Nov. 30-Dec. 2.
The Garnet set 98 season best times and posted 31 personal best times over the weekend.
Senior
Jeffrey Tse set NCAA B Cut times in the 100 back (49.84), 100 fly (49.19) and 200 breast (2:04.59) at the TCNJ Invite over the weekend. His 100 fly and 200 breast times are school records.
Tse helped Swarthmore win the 200 free relay (1:24.90), the 200 medley relay (1:33.25), the 400 free relay (3:08.83) and the 400 medley relay (3:26.68), and won the 50 free (21.08), the 100 fly (49.19), and the 100 back (51.47).
The Garnet finished in third place in the other relay—the 800 free—and all five of the relay teams' times were among the six best times in program history.
Freshman
Jeremy Rockaway won the 200 IM (1:54.86) by just 0.02 seconds and had the Centennial Conference's fastest times this season in the 200 fly (1:53.29) and 400 IM (4:07.86).
Fellow freshman
Tom Ward won the 1,650 free in a time of 16:25.11, the third-fastest mark in Swarthmore history. Teammate
Michael Lutzker finished just behind him with a time of 16:25.18.
Swarthmore returns to competition in 2019 on Jan. 19 in New Providence, N.J.
