MALVERN, Pa.—Swarthmore College Women's Lacrosse opened the 2019 season on the road at Immaculata University with a 15-1 win.
Senior attack
Kathryn Restrepo led Swarthmore with four goals and two assists.
Sophie Peipher recorded a hat trick, sinking 3-of-7 shots.
Julia Ostrowski and
Mackenzie Frost each added a pair of goals.
Tess Wild tallied a goal, and
Mia Capozzoli,
Helena Irvine and
Ashley Pyon all scored their first collegiate goals.
Wild was effective on the draw, winning six draw controls. Ostrowski added three draw controls and had a team-high five caused turnovers.
Betsy Cohen recorded a pair of saves in 50 minutes of action.
Madison Kline closed out the game by playing her first minutes as a collegiate goalie and recorded one save.
Swarthmore found the back of the net one minute into the action on Wild's goal and scored the first four before Immaculata did. The Garnet then scored the remaining 11 goals unanswered.
Swarthmore is back in action on Thursday night at Arcadia University for a 7 p.m. game.
