CHESTER, PA. - Competing at Widener University for day two of the Danny Curran Invitational on Saturday, Arp. 1, the Swarthmore men's track & field team put up impressive results, claiming six top 20 finishes.
The Garnet took part in eight events, fielding athletes in the 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m, 1500m, 3000m Steeplechase, Long Jump and 4x400m relay.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Starting off on the track, sophomore
Matthew Gutow had a stellar day for the Garnet, putting up a time of 51.78 in the 400m. Not only was that finish good enough for 19th overall, but was also a new personal best for the California native.
- Senior
Ethan Rothenberg had an impressive showing in the 800m, placing fifth with his time of 1:55.77.
- Senior
Jonah Ring finished 17th in the 1500m, crossing the finish at 4:11.11.
- Sophomore
Colin DeLaney had an excellent outing for the Garnet in the 3000m steeplechase, placing second overall with his time of 9:39.56.
- Wrapping up track events, the Swarthmore 4x400m relay team finished eight with a time of 3:30.79.
- Rounding out the day on the field, first year
Rishi Tella finished 18th in the long jump, putting up a mark of 6.14m.

Heading out to New Jersey, the Garnet will compete in Rowan University's Oscar Moore Invitational on Saturday, Apr. 8.
