DOYLESTOWN, Pa. – Led by a victory from senior
Elizabeth Hilfrank (Norfolk, Mass./King Philip Regional), the Gettysburg College women's cross country squad captured the team title at the Aggies Cross Country Open, hosted by Delaware Valley University.
Taking on 12 other teams, the Bullets finished with a team score of 46 to beat out runner-up Widener by 29 points.
Hilfrank cruised the 6,000-meter course in 23:14 to win the race by 50 seconds while earning her first collegiate victory.
Junior
Sarah Rinehart (Eldersburg, Md./Liberty) placed 11th the field of 128, clocking a 25:21. Gettysburg's third through fifth-place performers were close behind, finishing within a span of 13 seconds. Junior
Paige Wesolowski (Groveland, Mass./Pentucket Regional) took 13th in 25:35, freshman
Michelle O'Malley (Locust, N.J./Red Bank Catholic) took 14th in 25:40, and junior
Colleen Campbell (Erie, Pa./Collegiate Academy) was 25:48.
Finishing as displacers were junior
Margot Hoagland (Plymouth, Mass./North Plymouth), who placed 21st in 26:28, and sophomore
Hailey Moseman (Longmeadow, Mass./Longmeadow), who came in 25th in 26:48.
Gettysburg returns to action on Friday when it competes at the prestigious Paul Short Run.
