Messiah Decathlon ResultsÂ
GRANTHAM, Pa and LEWISBURG, Pa. – Sophomore
Aren Heitmann (Fairfield, Conn./Fairfield Ludlowe) and freshman
Nicholas Grissinger (Elizabethtown, Pa./Milton Hershey) registered the top finishes for the Gettysburg College men's track and field in sweltering conditions at the Messiah Invitational on Saturday.

Heitmann placed second out of 12 competitors in the 3,000-meter steeplechase (10:24.50) while Grissinger took third in a field of 17 in the 400-meter hurdles (58.82).

Other top performers for the Bullets included junior
Joe Amadio (Pittsburgh, Pa./Keystone Oaks), who placed fifth in a field 14 in the triple jump (40-5 1/2), sophomore
Nate Trinidad Doherty (Frederick, Md./Governor Thomas Johnson), who came in fifth out of 20 competitors in the javelin (145-10), junior
Alex Petrecca (Fairfield, Conn./Fairfield Warde), who took sixth out of 26 runners in the 1,500 (4:16.34), and senior
Ryan Thompson (Oakland, N.J./Indian Hills), who placed ninth in a field of 29 in the long jump (19-11 1/2).

In addition, senior
Thomas Clark (Belle Harbor, N.Y./Poly Prep) competed in Messiah's decathlon on Thursday and Friday. With a score of 4,606 points, he came in sixth among 13 competitors.

As a team, the Bullets scored 33 points and came in 10th out of 16 teams. Messiah took first with 152 points.
Â
Several Bullets also competed at the Bucknell Invitational on Saturday, and a small portion of the team will return for the second day of the meet on Sunday.
