RESULTS
HAVERFORD, Pa.–Several members of the Swarthmore College men's track and field team achieved personal bests in the first meet of the indoor season, the Jack Pyrah Invitational hosted by Villanova on the campus of Haverford College.
Facing mostly Division I competition, Sophomore
Daniel Belkin won the triple jump and placed fifth in the long jump with a PR of 6.28 meters. Senior
Andrew Jansen finished third in the shot put after throwing 13.66 meters on his second attempt, which eclipsed his previous best of 13.45.
Jerry Qin placed first in the pole vault and
Robert Eppley also claimed the title in the 60-meter hurdles, beating the pack in 9.41 seconds.
In other action on the track,
Benjamin Warren and
John Gagnon placed fourth in the 800-meter and 3000-meter races, respectively, with personal best times. Warren crossed in 1:59.44 while Gagnon finished in 8:45.49.
The team returns to action after the New Year at the Coach I open hosted by Franklin & Marshall College on Saturday, Jan. 14.
