Men's Lacrosse Works The 9-5 Against Plattsburgh

SWARTHMORE, Pa.—Swarthmore College Men's Lacrosse cruised to a 9-5 win over the Plattsburgh State Cardinals on Wednesday afternoon.

Freshman FOGO Ryan Izquierdo had a dominating performance for the Garnet, recording 14 faceoff wins on 18 attempts and grabbing the ground ball on nine of those tries.

John Calia was a stalwart in net, recording 15 saves in the the win.

Dylan Rittenhouse, Austin Chang and Cam Marsh all scored a pair of goals. Jake Ross, Zander Levitz and Jack Belluche each added a goal as well.

Marsh finished with a team-high four points after recording two assists too.

Both teams were content sit back and clog the shooting lanes early on, but Plattsburgh finally put the first goal on the board with 2:43 left in the first.

Swarthmore's first goal came with 12:15 left in the second quarter and that triggered a run of seven consecutive Garnet goals.

Plattsburgh scored four times in the fourth quarter, but the Garnet could not be caught.

Swarthmore went 1-for-3 on extra-man opportunities and killed both of Plattsburgh's EMOs.

Swarthmore returns to action on Saturday at 1 p.m. at Drew University in Madison, N.J.
