LIMERICK, PA. –
Billy Cardino and
Evan Coffey each earned top-10 place finishes leading the Ursinus College men's golf team to a T-5
th finish at the Turtle Creek Intercollegiate.
The Bears had five members compete at the Turtle Creek Country Club, a par-71 course that stretches over 6,702 yards.
The Bears earned a final team total of 327 (+39), while Alvernia won the team title with a final tally of 312 (+24). Arcadia (A-Team 313) finished just behind in second, as Albright (319) earned a third-place finish. Arcadia (B-Team) finished in fourth place with a final score of 323 and Mount St. Mary tied the Bears for fifth place with a final tally of 327.
Cardino and Coffey each earned a T-7
th place finish, firing a five-over 77 throughout the afternoon. Cardino's day was highlighted with ten pars and birdies on the par-four 4
th and par-four 6
th holes. Through the front nine he finished even (36) and closed out the back-nine five over. Coffey enjoyed a stellar afternoon posting a collegiate low, while tallying a one-over 37 on the back nine capped off with pars on six of his final seven holes. Coffey picked up birdies on the par-four 4
th and par-four 10
th holes.
Freshman
Alec Plante earned a T-30
th place finish firing a collegiate low 85(+13). Plante's day was highlighted by a birdie on the par-four 12
th holes and finished his round with seven pars. Senior
T.J. Stanton finished just behind with a final tally of 88 (+16) for a T-38
th place finish. Stanton's impressed on the front nine with a five-over 41, capped off by four pars. Freshman
Connor Huth tied his collegiate low signing for a 99 (+27), earning a 53rd-place finish.
Ursinus closed out their 2022 Fall Season and will begin their spring season in March of 2023.
