SWARTHMORE, Pa.–Cold shooting troubled the Swarthmore College women's basketball team on Wednesday, Feb. 2 as it suffered a 76-34 defeat at the hands of the Muhlenberg College Mules.
Lindsay O'Sullivan led the Garnet behind 11 points in 18 minutes and
Maggie O'Neil chipped in seven to go with two blocks.
Bridget Scott pulled down six boards, including three on the offensive glass, in her first start of the season.
On the first possession of the game, a three-pointer by O'Neil gave Swarthmore an early lead before the Mules established control with an 11-0 run. The visitors built a 20-point lead after two periods and used a 30-9 scoring margin in the third to put the game out of reach.
Neither team was able to find an offensive rhythm in the fourth quarter as they combined to shoot 4-of-29 from the field.
Swarthmore looks to snap its eight-game losing streak when it travels to McDaniel on Saturday, Feb. 4 for a 1 p.m. game.
