BRISTOL, RI. (November 13, 2016) – Stevens Institute of Technology wrestling senior Colin Navickas, junior Zach Wilhelm, and freshman Troy Stanich each took first at their respective weight classes Saturday afternoon at the Roger Williams Invitationall.

Navickas won the title at 165, while Wilhelm and Stanich won at 149 and 133 respectively. The championship is the second of the season for Stanich after the rookie took first last weekend at Ithaca.  

As a team, Stevens won the most championships and had the most finalists of any team in the field. 

Stanich opened his tournament with a bye and win by fall, before a major in the quarter sent him into the semi. Once there, the rookie topped No. 19 Jay Ablis of Johnson & Wales in a dominating 16-0 technical fall, before a 5-2 decision victory over No. 3 Ryan Flynn on York in the final. 

Wilhelm powered his way to two majors in rounds one and two, followed by two more in the quarter and semi to make the final. Johnson & Wales' Malik Rasheed game the veteran his stiffest test once there, but Wilhelm triumphed 8-6 in sudden victory for the title.

Like his teammates, Navickas opened his day in dominating fashion with a fall and technical fall, before a 3-1 decision in the quarter clinched a spot in the final four. A 7-2 decision victory came once there, followed by an 11-6 decision win in the final over Coast Guard's Nick Remke. 

Senior Rob Murray also enjoyed a successful day with a second place finish at 125. Murray tallied wins by fall and decision en route to recording his 100th career win, and topped No. 9 Bobby Jordan of Ithaca to avenge a loss from last weekend.

Sophomore Thomas Poklikuha also earned a third-place finish at 157 with a pair of technical fall wins to start, followed by two majors and a 9-2 decision over No. 6 Ty Herzog of Roger Williams in the third-place match. 

Stevens will be back in action next weekend when it makes a road trip to northeast Ohio for the Mount Union Duals.
