Men's Lacrosse Scores 21 Goals In Win Over McDaniel

SWARTHMORE, Pa.—Swarthmore College Men's Lacrosse had an offensive outburst on Saturday afternoon, tallying a season-high 21 goals against the visiting McDaniel College Green Terror in a 21-6 win.

Twelve different Swarthmore players found the back of the net, including Jake Ross who scored a game-high five goals. Chris Licitra scored his first three goals of the season with his hat trick. Dylan Rittenhouse scored the first goal of the game and finished with a pair. Nathaniel Johns and Austin Chang both scored two goals each.

Ryan Izquierdo, Ben Schaeffer, Quin Seivold, Talbot Child, Will Vespole, Zander Levitz and Kieran McKenna all netted a goal each.

Izquierdo and the Garnet dominated on the faceoff x, setting the table for Swarthmore's offensive output. Izquierdo won 13 faceoffs on 16 attempts and picked up 12 groundballs. Joel Paulson came in and went 9-for-10 on faceoffs.

Swarthmore darted out to a 4-0 lead and went out to a 9-1 lead after the first quarter. Swarthmore led 13-3 at the break and then out-scored McDaniel 8-3 in the second half.

The Garnet had three goalies see action: Frankie Dillon, Jack Ballou and Isaac Kleisle-Murphy. Dillon got the win while recording 10 saves.

Swarthmore earned its first Centennial Conference win of the season and honored its seven seniors prior to the game: Dylan Rittenhouse, Matt Parker, Ryan Mulvey, Griffin Johnston, Bryan Murray, Tommy Ferguson and Christian Vik. Vik, who missed all of his senior season because of a leg injury, was able to check into the game one last time and stand in the wing area on a faceoff.

Next up for the Garnet (8-5) is Washington College on Wednesday.
