LANCASTER, Pa. – Junior
Hailey Moseman (Longmeadow, Mass./Longmeadow) placed fifth in the 800-meter run to lead the Gettysburg College women's track and field team in its first meet of the season on Saturday at the Diplomat Open, hosted by Franklin & Marshall College.
Moseman placed fifth out of 31 competitors in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:26.70. She also finished 16th in the 400-meter dash (1:05.40). Sophomore
Devyn Heinzerling (Westfield, N.J./Westfield) also cracked the top-10 in the 800-meter dash, finishing 10th in 2:31.83, while freshman
Grace Corcoran (Sandy Hook, Conn./Newtown) took 15th (2:36.88). In the one mile run, Heinzerling took seventh in a field of 27 runners to finish with a time of 5:51.48.
On the field, freshman
Katie Seccafico (Halesite, N.Y./Huntington) tied for 14th in the high jump with a height of 4' 5". Freshman
Caitlin Yap (Wayne, N.J./Morris Catholic) claimed 15th in the pole vault (8'0").
Gettysburg is off from competition until Jan. 25, when it travels back to Lancaster for the Franklin & Marshall Little Dip Invitational.
