BRYN MAWR, Pa. - Host Bryn Mawr won two of three doubles matches and swept singles as it recorded an 8-1 win over Goucher College in non-conference women's tennis Friday afternoon.
- At No. 3 doubles, Goucher's (3-3) Sarai Oquendo Silveira (Houston, Texas / Harmony School of Discovery) and Ilana Stein (Metuchen, N.J. / Metuchen) posted an 8-4 win.
- Bryan Mawr (5-0) won close matches at No. 1 and No. 2 doubles.
- At No. 1, Ceri McCaffrey (Ardsley, N.Y./Ardsley) and Jessica Townes (Wilmington, Del./Concord) fell 8-5.
- Eliza Abady (Dobbs Ferry, N.Y./The Masters School) and Aaliyah Ybarra (Bastrop, Texas/Cedar Creek) dropped an 8-5 decision at No. 2.
- The Owls swept all six singles matches to secure the victory.
- Abada forced a third set at No. 4 before falling 6-3, 4-6, 10-3.
- Shelby Meek (Halethorpe, Md./Catonsville) battled in a 6-4, 6-4 loss at No. 4.
- Goucher heads to Florida for spring break and returns to action Tuesday, facing Huntingdon at the USTA facility in Orlando.
