CHESTER, Pa.–Sophomore Ben Hejna had a strong showing at the nearby Widener Field Meet on Friday evening with a sweep in the jump events.
Hejna started off the night with a mark of 6.08m in the long jump. He cleared 1.73m to take the high jump and capped off the meet by winning the triple jump (12.44m) over competitors from Haverford and Neumann.
In the shot put,
Jared Hunt shattered his previous personal best by over a meter and placed second after a throw of 14.50m, the fourth-best distance in school history.
Andrew Jansen placed fifth in the same event with a 13.42m mark.
Swarthmore next competes at the Villanova Invitational and the Frank Colden Invite, both taking place on Saturday, Feb. 4.
