GLENSIDE, Pa.—No. 20 Swarthmore College Women's Soccer only needed 77 minutes on Wednesday night to top the No. 23 Arcadia University Knights. The Garnet won 1-0 with the game being declared an official contest 13 minutes early because of inclement weather. The win was an important one for the Garnet to get as Arcadia was right behind Swarthmore in the Mid-Atlantic Region poll.

Maddy Carens tallied the game's only goal, scoring in the 16th minute. The goal is her first of the year. Marin McCoy dribbled into the box from the right side and popped the ball back out to Carens right at the top of the 18. Carens wound up and struck a hard shot that darted for the far post and curled back into the middle of the back of the net.

Swarthmore out-shot Arcadia 11-6 and held a 6-2 advantage.

The Garnet went with freshman goalkeeper Chantal Reyes on Wednesday, and she recorded two saves in the shutout win.

Swarthmore returns to action on Saturday at Franklin & Marshall College at 3 p.m.
