The Muhlenberg women's lacrosse team made a late run on the road against Centennial Conference unbeaten Washington College, but came up just short and fell, 10-8.

The Shorewomen (9-2, 4-0), who are tied for first place in the CC with Franklin & Marshall, held a 9-5 lead with seven minutes to play before the Mules (5-5, 1-3) began their comeback. Goals by senior Jordy Bonvini, junior Amanda Tullo and freshman Taliah Carson in a span of 3:31 cut the Washington lead to one goal at 9-8.

Washington won the ensuing draw, however, and scored with 1:25 left to extend its lead back to two. Junior Caroline Dolan controlled the next draw and Muhlenberg got off a shot with under a minute left, but it was saved and the Shorewomen ran out most of the clock.

Bonvini scored three goals for her 26th career hat trick. Tullo also finished with three for her fifth hat trick in eight games this season.

Senior Kailey Fandl and junior Morgan Weiss led the defense with four caused turnovers apiece. Sophomore Jordan Segrave made 10 saves.
