The Muhlenberg men's soccer team kicked off its 2018 Centennial Conference season by playing to a scoreless tie against defending champion Franklin & Marshall.
The Mules (3-1-1, 0-0-1) held a slight 10-9 advantage in shots in a hard-fought game that did not feature many outstanding scoring chances. Each team managed only two shots on goal, with senior
Jordan Schreer stopping both of F&M's to post his ninth career shutout.
Senior
Kiefer Cundy (pictured above) had Muhlenberg's best overtime opportunity, ripping a hard shot from distance that was saved.Â
The Diplomats (5-0-1, 0-0-1), who are ranked 13th in Division III, were the second of three straight home opponents that qualified for the NCAA Tournament last year. The Mules went to two overtimes against each of the first two and will end the stretch against local rival DeSales on Tuesday.
