MYRTLE BEACH, SC: Rivier baseball fell this evening to McDaniel College in non-conference action at the Ripken Experience.   

THE BASICS:

- Date: 3/10/23

- Score: McDaniel 14, Rivier 1

- Records: McDaniel (6-4), Rivier (2-5)

HOW IT HAPPENED:

-  The Green Terrors jumped out to a 6-0 lead after the first inning after scoring six runs on just two hits. They tacked one more on in the second and two in the fifth. They would have another big inning in the seventh when they plated another four runs. That inning saw just two hits and five walks.

- The Raiders would score their lone run in the top of the eighth. John Canto (Harwich, MA) started it off with a double to right center field and would come across after a wild pitch.

- Ryan Martino got the win (1-2) after throwing six innings, allowing just four hits and six strikeouts. Anthony Morro (Durham, CT) was tagged with the loss (0-2) after going 2 innings allowing four hits, six earned runs, and three strikeouts.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS: Top Performers

-  Hunter Kelly was 1-for-1 with 3 RBIs.

-  Ben Davis was 1-for-4 with 2 RBIs.

-  Canto was 2-for-4 with a run scored.
