Match Highlights
  • Gettysburg was out-manned from the outset against its Division I foe. Injuries left the Bullets without competitors at 125 and 133, giving the Diplomats a quick 12-0 advantage in the team scoring. Two technical falls and a major decision pushed the F&M lead to 26-0.
  • Martin and Crew Fullerton took stock of each other in the opening minute of their bout at 165 with Martin deftly avoiding a potential takedown near the edge of the mat. The bout came to an abrupt halt, however, when Fullerton suffered an apparent injury, giving the Gettysburg senior a win by injury default. Martin improved to 70-35 overall in his career and 21-5 this season.
  • The Diplomats posted a major decision and technical fall in the next two matches. Junior Brendan Loder (Westfield, N.J./Westfield) provided some late excitement with a pair of takedowns against Mike Waszen at 197 pounds, but Waszen's early lead held up for a 15-8 decision. F&M closed the match with a pin by Cenzo Pelusi at heavyweight.
