WAYNESBORO, Pa. - The Swarthmore College golf team finished strong as they battled through more rain and wind at the Mason-Dixon Collegiate on Sunday morning. The Garnet finished with a season-best team score of 295 in the second round as they finished 13th overall out of 21 teams.
Andy Xin shot one-under to lead the Garnet on the afternoon, while
Dylan Zhang shot a season-best to improve on his opening round score. All five of the Swarthmore competitors improved on their opening round scores.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Xin matched his season-high with a second round score of 71 (-1) to finish one-under for the day. The freshman ended with a two-round score of 150 (+6) to tied for 22nd overall and set a new two-round season best. Xin finished the day on a high note with three birdies on the back nine.
- Zhang set a new season-best after leading the Garnet in the opening round. The freshman carded a 74 (+2) on the day to finish tied for 28th overall. Zhang sank birdies on both the front nine and back nine.

Ben Lee finished tied for 46th overall as he took five strokes off his opening round effort. Lee matched Zhang with a 74 (+2) for the round as he finished nine-over for the tournament. He totaled one birdie on the front nine and two birdies on the back nine.

Neil Zhu rounded out the Garnet scorers with a 76 (+4) for the second round. The freshman improved his opening round tally by seven strokes as he set a new season-best score.
Jackson Murphy also improved his opening round score by one stroke with a 81 (+9) on the day. Murphy sunk two birdies on the round, while Zhu had one birdie.
