ABBOTTSTOWN, Pa. – For the second time this season, senior
Danny Harcourt (Fanwood, N.J./Saint Peter's Prep) and his teammates swept the individual and team titles at an event, this time claiming top honors at the Gettysburg College Fall Invitational held at the Hanover Country Club on Wednesday.
Harcourt earned his second title of the fall by shooting an even-par 71 on the 6,474-yard course. He beat out Ethan Yohe of Penn State Altoona by two strokes. Harcourt recorded a pair of birdies on No. 6 and No. 14 – both par-4s – while logging 14 pars. The victory also marked the 10th time in his career he has finished atop the leaderboard.
As a team, Gettysburg's main contingent finished with a team score of 308 to grab its third team trophy of the fall. Lebanon Valley College was second at 316, while Eastern University and McDaniel College tied for third at 318 in the field of 14.
Senior
Dane Sethre-Hofstad (Moorhead, Minn./Moorhead) finished fourth overall with a five-over 76. Sethre-Hofstad recorded three birdies on the day, including on the par-5, 535-yard fourth hole.
Sophomore
Jimmy Harcourt (Fanwood, N.J./Scotch Plains Fanwood) tied for 16th with an 80. The younger Harcourt logged a birdie on the par-4, 406-yard No. 13 hole. Sophomore
Daniel Rieger (Collegeville, Pa./Methacton) finished right behind with an 81 to tie for 23rd overall. Freshman
Hayden Moffat (Hatboro, Pa./Hatboro-Horsham) rounded out Gettysburg's "A" team with an 84 to tie for 43rd.
The second group of Bullets finished eighth with a team score of 324. Sophomore
Quinn Greene (New Milford, Conn./Canterbury School) and freshman
Matthew Kalamar (Bethlehem, Pa./Allentown Central) each posted two birdies and finished with 80s to tie for 16th overall.
Freshman
Tristan Hochman (Westport, Conn./Staples) finished one stroke back of his teammates with an 81, highlighted by an eagle on the par-5, 505-yard No. 17 hole. Hochman finished tied for 23rd overall. Senior
Christian Haldeman (Center Valley, Pa./Moravian Academy) rounded out the lineup with an 83 to finish tied for 39th.
Gettysburg closes out its fall campaign at the Mason-Dixon Collegiate Invitational at The Bridges Golf Club this weekend (Oct. 6-7). The Bullets tee off at 9:50 a.m. Saturday morning.
