• The Short Story: The Johns Hopkins women's basketball team used 26 points from
Lillian Scott to defeat visiting Washington College, 50-37 on Saturday afternoon.
How it Happened
• The Blue Jays opened the game on an 8-2 run early in the quarter but a three from Bridget McLaughlin cut the JHU lead in half at 6:22. With Hopkins leading 11-5, the Shorewomen scored the next five points to make it a one-point Blue Jay lead. A jumper from
Maggie Wodicka gave Hopkins a three-point lead, however, WC scored the quarter's final three points to tie the game at 13 at the end of the first.

Lexie Scholtz gave Johns Hopkins the lead back early in the second, but four-straight Washington College points gave WC a 17-15 advantage at 8:03. Scott scored the next seven points and
Rory Cole added a layup as Hopkins finished the quarter on a 9-0 run to take a 24-17 lead into halftime.
• Washington College opened the third with back-to-back buckets to cut the Hopkins lead to 24-21 but a three from McGrath put the Blue Jays up six. After an Emily Thiemann layup made it 27-23 with 7:26 left, Johns Hopkins finished the quarter on a 13-2 run to take a 40-24 lead into the final quarter.
• The Blue Jays controlled the final quarter of play with the Shorewomen getting as close as 12 with 4:43 left as Hopkins took a 50-37 victory.
What it Means
• The Blue Jays are now 38-3 all-time against the Shorewomen and have won the last 13 games.
• This is the seventh time in the last 10 years that the Blue Jays have won at least 16 games in a season.
• Scott, who went 5-of-6 from deep today, now ranks second all-time in three-pointers made as she has 134 in her career.
Inside the Box Score
• Scott poured in 26 points to lead all scorers in the game. Cole pulled down nine boards while
Diarra Oden had eight rebounds in the game.
• The 37 points given up tie a season-low for the Blue Jay defense which held WC to 28.8% shooting in the game.
