Golf Leads the Field After Augustine Intercollegiate Opening Round

STAFFORD, Va. - The Swarthmore College men's golf team sits at the top of the standings after the opening round of the Arcadia University Augustine Intercollegiate on Friday afternoon. The Garnet are positioned two strokes ahead of Catholic University with a team score of 312.

Ben Lee and Neil Zhu paced the Garnet in the opening round of play. Lee continued his tremendous junior campaign as he posted his 12th-straight round with a score below 80.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Ben Lee and Neil Zhu tied for fourth overall with a score of 76 to finish five-over par for the opening round.

- Alex Cheriel tied for 14th overall after the first 18 holes. The junior shot eight-over par with a score of 79.

- Dylan Zhang rounded out the Garnet scorers with a top-20 finish. The first-year carded an 81 to shoot 10-over par for the round.

- Chad Kemmerer and Gyan Bains also competed for the Garnet. Kemmerer tied for 22nd overall with an 82 (+11), while Bains carded an 83 (+12) to tie for 26th.
