BALTIMORE – The Gettysburg College women's tennis team dropped a 9-0 decision to No. 18 Johns Hopkins University in a Centennial Conference match Friday evening.
Johns Hopkins (4-6, 4-0 CC) dropped only three games in a sweep at doubles. Sophomore
Samantha Boardman (Greenwich, Conn./Brooks School) and freshman
Amanda Vinges (Basking Ridge, N.J./Ridge) fell 8-2 at the top position.
The Blue Jays swept the top three singles matches in straight-sets and took the final three bouts in pro-sets. Vinges accounted for the most points among the Bullets with a 6-2, 6-2 setback to Kimberly Zou at No. 3.
Gettysburg hosts Bryn Mawr College Saturday at noon.
