This weekend's events mark the seventh consecutive season Gettysburg has hosted national playoff games in women's lacrosse, including a pair of championship finals in 2010 and 2014. Sunday's victor will advance to the regional round of the NCAA playoffs.

Gettysburg reached the national tournament for the 15th consecutive year and 16th time in the last 17 seasons. The squad earned an automatic bid to the event after knocking off fourth-ranked Franklin & Marshall College 6-5 in the finals of the Centennial Conference Championship. The victory marked the Bullets' 10 conference crown since the 2000 season.

Gettysburg is 24-14 all-time in the NCAA playoffs. The team claimed a national title in 2011 and has appeared in the semifinals five times in the last decade. On its home turf, Gettysburg has compiled a 16-7 record. The Bullets have not lost their NCAA playoff opener since 2008.

Roger Williams is making its first-ever trip to the national stage and is seeking its first contest against Gettysburg. The Bullets met William Smith each year from 1998-2000 with the Herons winning each match up. William Smith is making its 17th appearance in the NCAA playoffs, but first since 2004.
