ABBOTTSTOWN, Pa. - Swarthmore College Men's Golf earned a ninth-place finish at the McDaniel Invitational at the Bridges Golf Club this weekend.
Gettysburg College, who shot 590 as a team, earned a first-place finish, while McDaniel College (591) placed second as a team.
As a team, Swarthmore shot a 623 on the par-72, 6,713-yard course. On Saturday, the Garnet posted a score of 308, and closed out the competition with a card of 315. The Garnet were led by
Alex Cheriel (tied for 30th place) with a score of 155. The sophomore carded a 77 on day one and shot a 78 on day two.
Ben Lee finished tied for 32nd with a score of 156. Lee carded a team best 76 on Saturday and scored a 80 in the final round.
Samuel Bartolone added a card of 157, while
Michael Brown followed with a score of 158.
Christopher Gaeta rounded out the top five with a 165.
Swarthmore will be back in action on Saturday as they compete in the Gino Biondi Memorial Tournment at Glenmaura National Golf Club.
