The Muhlenberg softball team erupted for 14 hits, including five doubles, to win 9-4 in the second game and gain a doubleheader split at frigid King's. The Monarchs took the opener, 9-1.
Senior
Amelia Shelley had two hits in each game to surpass the 100-hit mark for her career.
The Mules (6-8) rebounded quickly from their Game 1 loss, putting up four runs in the top of the first inning of the nightcap on a pair of two-run doubles by senior
Karissa Astrella and junior
Kristina Qualben.
Sophomore
Sarah Schubert led off the second with another double and scored Muhlenberg's fifth run on a single by senior
Hanna Caiola.Â
Later that inning, Shelley
(pictured above in warmer weather) singled for her 100th career hit. She is the 31st player in program history to reach the century mark.Â
In the bottom of the second, senior
Haley Fedak reached a milestone of her own when she recorded her 200th career strikeout. She finished the game with six Ks en route to earning her third straight win.
The Mules widened their lead to 8-2 by scoring three runs with two outs in the fourth. Shelley drove in the first run with her 101st career hit, and junior
Kristy Selby followed with a two-run double.
Selby, who drove in Muhlenberg's lone run of the first game with a fifth-inning double, went 3-for-4 in the nightcap for her first career three-hit games.Â

Ariana Feliziani had a pair of hits in the opener.
