• The Short Story: The Johns Hopkins women's outdoor track & field team opened up the outdoor season with two event wins during day one of the Fred Hardy Invitational on Friday night.

Results
Johns Hopkins Winners:
• Tasha Freed defeated all of the non-division I competitors in the steeplechase as she won the event with a mark of 10:55.39 which bested the previous best facility time in the event. The division one race was won by Olivia Viparina who finished in 10:48.96.
•
Caelyn Reilly won the 5K with a time of 17:16.85. Johanna Lupica won the Division I race with a time of 17:52.63.
Other Meet Highlights:
•
Kelsey Neff recorded a seventh-place finish in the shot put with a throw of 11.57m.
• In the high jump,
Maya Hammonds finished in third with a mark of 1.50m while
Sophia Cortazzo earned a second-place finish in the pole vault with a mark of 3.20m.
•
Cherease Lamm and
Veronica Montane finished third and fourth in the triple jump as Lamm finished third with a mark of 10.70m while Montane finished fourth with a mark of 10.62m.
•
Lauren Jacob earned a second-place finish in the steeplechase as she finished with a time of 11:30.78.
Samantha Levy also earned a second-place finish as she finished the 5K with a time of 17:33.96.
• The Blue Jays placed four runners in the top-10 of the 1,500-meter run with
Therese Olshanski leading the way in second with a time of 4:38.35.
Ariel Keklak finished in fifth (4:43.61) followed by
Erin Brush (4:44.37) in sixth and
Gina D'Addario (4:46.04) in seventh.
