ALLENTOWN, Pa. – Senior
Christian Deschapelles (Riverside, Conn./King School) picked up a straight-set victory at No. 1 singles, but Gettysburg College dropped the team decision 6-3 against Dickinson College Wednesday evening.
Dickinson (8-7, 2-5 CC) won second and third doubles before Gettysburg (2-6, 0-6 CC) secured a victory at the top flight. Junior
Kevin Maier (Alpharetta, Ga./Milton) and freshman
Tommy Gilio (New Canaan, Conn./New Canaan) out-lasted Shawn Diniz and Samuel Loring 9-7 in the Gettysburg duo's first appearance at No. 1 this season.
Deschapelles turned in the quickest singles match with 6-2 and 6-1 wins over Diniz at the top flight. Freshman
Harrison Brown (Annapolis, Md./Broadneck) grinded out a third-set tiebreaker to pull off a 6-3, 3-6, 10-8 win over Bryce Perritt at No. 5.
Gettysburg visits Washington College this Saturday at 1 p.m.
