Johns Hopkins Blanks York, 2-0

Maclean and Moylan Score for the Blue Jays

The Basics
• Score: #21 Johns Hopkins-2, York-0
• Records: JHU (5-1-0) • YCP (3-2-0)
• Location: York, PA • Graham Field
• The Short Story: The 21st-ranked Johns Hopkins men's soccer team got a goal in each half as the Blue Jays blanked the host York Spartans Wednesday night.

How it Happened
• Hopkins had three great chances late in the first half before finally breaking through in the 41st minute. Sophomore Jonathon Brown had a hard shot saved by the goalie in the 34th minute. Junior Liam Moylan then hit the post in the 39th minute and then just missed wide on the ricochet.
• Moylan played a long ball over the Spartan defense and Brown beat his defender to the end line. He crossed the ball into the six-yard box and sophomore Alejandro Maclean one-touched it at the far post to put Hopkins up 1-0 with under five minutes to play in the half.
• Barak Amige nearly tied the game in the 48th minute with a header off a throw-in but sophomore Xander LeFevre made a diving one-handed save to keep the Spartans off the board.
• Less than two minutes later, the Blue Jays doubled their lead. Junior Connor Jacobs blasted a shot on goal that Billy Bridegum stopped, but the ball kicked out to Moylan, who buried the rebound in the 50th minute.
• Amige just missed again in the 60th minute when off a corner, he flicked a shot across the mouth of the goal but it just went wide. Less than a minute later, Brown blasted a shot from 28 yards out that Bridegum just got his hands on to knock over the cross bar.
