Around the Conference

Johns Hopkins ended Gettysburg's school-record winning streak at 23 games, handing the 22nd ranked Bullets a 2-0 loss. Sophomore RHP Carter Burns (Winter Park, Fla.) twirled seven innings of shutout baseball before Zach Augustine (Skaneateles, N.Y.) finished the job for the save. Senior OF Richie Carbone (New York, N.Y.) provided all the offense the Jays needed with a two-run homer in the fifth. It was Gettysburg's first loss since March 11.

The Bullets split a doubleheader with Muhlenberg, clinching a spot in the Conference playoffs for the second straight season. Gettysburg's magic number to secure the top seed for the upcoming Centennial tournament is two - any combination of two Bullet wins or Muhlenberg losses.

Dickinson is one victory away from recording its third 20-win campaign in the last four seasons. Junior LHP Harley Moore (Deltaville, Va.) moved to 5-0, picking up the win in the 11-4 victory over Franklin & Marshall. He fanned eight and allowed one earned run over 6 2/3 innings of work. Moore and teammate Ryan Kramer (New Vernon, N.J.) have combined for 124 strikeouts this season - tops in the Centennial.

Diplomat 3B Matt Mezansky (Larchmont, N.Y.) went 6-for-6 from the plate in a 14-4 victory at Washington College, tying the Centennial single-game record for safeties.

Haverford OF Nick Miranda (New Hope, Pa.) tied the program record for hits in a game with five in a 6-5 triumph at Ursinus. He also scored three runs, including the game-winner in the top of the ninth. Patrick Falkoff (Branford, Conn.) picked up his CC leading fifth save.

Muhlenberg pounded out 20 hits - the Mules' most in a Centennial game since 2009 - en route to a 12-4 victory over Gettysburg. SS Kurt Johnson (Newtown Square, Pa.) had a career-best five hits for 'Berg, including two doubles and three RBI. 3B John Scuderi (Old Brookville, N.Y.) scored the 100th run of his career in the win, making him just the 10th player in program history to reach the milestone. Junior RHP David Anderson (Syracuse, N.Y.) tossed eight shutout innings with four strikeouts and no walks in a 3-0 win over Swarthmore.

Ursinus picked up its first win over Johns Hopkins since 2009, scoring three in the bottom of the ninth to force extras and once in the 10th to win 7-6. Timo Muro (Ridgefield, Conn.), Austin Feuerman (Columbia, Md.) and Chris Jablonski (Galloway, N.J.) delivered RBI hits in the ninth and Ralph Aurora (Plainsboro, N.J.) was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded to force home the game-winner. Aurora leads the Centennial with 16 HBP.

Washington College swept a doubleheader from Haverford for the first time since 2000 with 11-3 and 10-2 triumphs. The Shoremen outscored its opponents, 35-6, during its three-game win streak. OFs Bryan Baquer (Woodbridge, Va.) and Scott Matthews (Goshen, N.Y.) are second and third in the Centennial in RBI with 34 and 26, respectively.
