APPLETON, Wis.--The American Baseball Coaches Association honored Swarthmore College Baseball junior starting pitcher Ricky Conti as a third-team All-American on Thursday night at the NCAA Division III World Series Opening Ceremony.
Conti is the first Garnet baseball All-American since Ed Greene also earned third-team recognition in 1985.
Leading all Swarthmore starters with a 1.94 ERA, Conti also has a program-record 12 wins and just two losses on the mound this season. His .196 batting average against is the best among Garnet starters as well.
In 88 innings pitched, Conti has 58 strikeouts and just 22 walks.
Conti and the Garnet return to action at 5:30 p.m. ET on Friday in Appleton, Wisconsin against No. 8-ranked Concordia Chicago in the Division III Championship.
