CEDAR RAPIDS, IA- The top-ranked Johns Hopkins Baseball team once again put up 10 runs, led by a four-run sixth inning, to knock off Baldwin Wallace and continue to remain in the winners bracket at the NCAA Championship.

Johns Hopkins took control of the game in the top of the sixth inning with a four-run outburst that opened up a five-run lead. A Dylan Whitney walk and a pair of singles from Matthew Cooper and Alex Shane loaded the bases with one away. Shawn Steuerer came through in the clutch for Johns Hopkins once again, with an almost identical bases-clearing double to the one he hit yesterday. A couple batters later, Tripp Myers ripped a double just inside the right field line to bring in Steuerer and make it 7-2.

Steuerer wanted to leave one final mark on the game in the next inning with two outs and two runners on. Once again, Steuerer roped one into the gap in left center to bring in two more RBI's.

The Yellow Jackets made one last-ditch effort in the ninth inning down by four with runners at first and second and one out. However, Matt Savedoff locked in on the mound and retired the last two BW hitters to close the win for Johns Hopkins.

Johns Hopkins wasted no time getting things started in the top of the first as three singles brought in the game's first run. Shane and Dillon Souvignier both singled to the right side before Steuerer punched one through the infield to bring in Shane.

The Yellow Jackets answered the bell in the bottom of the first with two outs. Luke Vonderhaar picked up a base-hit up the middle and Nick Clark followed with a two-run blast to right field to give Baldwin Wallace a 2-1 lead.

After a sac fly by Jimmy Stevens in the second, the Blue Jays had a chance to break the game open as they plated a run on a Souvignier RBI single and had the bases loaded with one out, but Dawson Gabe came out of the pen and struck out two Johns Hopkins batters to strand all three runners and keep the score at 3-2.

Baldwin Wallace threatened to regain control in the bottom of the fifth inning after back-to-back hit by pitches loaded the bases with two outs. The Blue Jays called on graduate student pitcher Ben Keever to try and clean the inning. Keever got into a full count and induced a ground ball to first that Souvignier took to the bag himself to finish the inning.
