OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Jonathan Germano, Johns Hopkins

Germano accounted for four touchdowns in the Blue Jays' 52-17 victory against Juniata. He completed 15-of-22 passes for 175 yards and scoring passes of 25 and 3 yards. Germano also rushed eight times for 78 yards, finding paydirt twice including a 48-yard run.


DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Edward Delia, Moravian
Senior, Linebacker, 5-11, 226
Lebanon, NJ / North Hunterdon HS  

Delia led the Greyhound defense with 10 solo and 17 total tackles and broke up a pass in a 33-32 win at Ursinus. Moravian held the Bears to just five yards rushing.

Sunday returned a kickoff 86 yards for a touchdown in the Blue Jays' 52-17 victory against Juniata. It was Hop's first KOR for a score since 2007. He averaged 41.7 yards on three kick returns and amassed 156 all-purpose yards on the day.

Lamb returned a kickoff 91 yards for a touchdown in the Mules' 33-30 victory at Susquehanna. He took four kicks back for a 34.5-yard average and finished with 270 all-purpose yards on the day.

 

 

 

Dickinson / @WearinTheRedFB / The Devils jumped out to an early 7-0 lead but could not make it stand up in a 20-10 loss to Franklin & Marshall. Dickinson is 0-5 for the first time since 1985. QB Billy Burger (Carlisle, PA / Carlisle) teamed with WR Jake Walbert (Sinking Spring, PA / Wilson) on a 12-yard strike to cap a 76-yard opening drive for the lead. PK Stephen Walker (Darien, CT / Darien) booted a 39-yard field goal for the other Devil points. DE Kevin Sherry (Swarthmore, PA / Strath Haven) and LB Ned Emala (Baltimore, MD / Gilman) each had 11 tackles to lead the defense, while James Turner (Ridgefield, CT / Suffield Academy) and Will Peck (North Yarmouth, ME / Greely) had interceptions.

 

 

Franklin & Marshall / @FandMFootball / The Diplomats brought the Conestoga Wagon Trophy back to Lancaster with a 20-10 win at Dickinson in the 108th renewal of the Centennial's longest-running series. QB Zach Bradley (Catasauqua, PA / Catasauqua) threw a 10-yard TD pass to WR Dillon Alderfer (Worcester, PA / Methacton) and RB Taalib Gerald (Egg Harbor Twp., NJ / Holy Spirit) scored on a 4-yard run for F&M. PK Billy Zwicharowski (Magnolia, DE / Polytech) booted field goals of 27 and 19 yards for the other Diplomat points. The defense held Dickinson to just 91 rushing and 173 total yards. DB Vincent Moffett (Philadelphia, PA / St. Joseph's Prep) had eight tackles and an interception, while DL Jon Naji (North Wales, PA / LaSalle College) also had eight stops and 1.5 sacks. DL Joe Granahan (Garnet Valley, PA / Garnet Valley) had 2.5 sacks as well.

 

 

Gettysburg / @gburgbullets / The Bullets improved to 2-3 with a 38-23 victory over neighboring rival McDaniel. Gettysburg ran for 277 yards, led by QB Danny Thompson (Oakland, NJ / Indian Hills) with a career-high 117. RB Justin Walsh (Northfield, NJ / Mainland Regional) added 99 and two scores, while QB Justin Davidov (Ossining, NY / Ossining) also scored twice.LB Jake Skinner (Annapolis, MD / Broadneck) led the defense with 14 tackles, giving him 30 in his last two outings, while Jake Fioretti (Point Pleasant Beach, NJ / Point Pleasant Beach) totaled a career-high 10 stops. DBs Nolan Skirtich (Mars, PA / Mars) and Kamau Bridges (Ellicott City, MD / Mount St. Joseph) added fourth-quarter interceptions.

 

 

Johns Hopkins / @JHU_Football / The Blue Jays exploded for 31 unanswered points in the second quarter to roll over Juniata, 52-17. QB Jon Germano (Hawthorne, NJ / Bergen Catholic) ran for two TDs and threw for two more. He completed 15-of-22 passes for 175 yards and ran eight times for 78 more. RB Ryan Cary (Marlboro, NY / Marlboro) also found the endzone twice – one by ground and another by air. WR Quinn Donaldson (Bowling Green, OH / Bowling Green) snared seven balls for 109 yards and two TDs. Bradley Munday (Chagrin Falls, OH / Chagrin Falls) scored on an 86-yard kickoff return – the Jays' first KOR for a score since 2007. Younger brother Michael had a pair of interceptions. QB Zack Baker (Alamo, CA / San Ramon Valley) connected on 6-of-6 passes for 48 yards and a score and has completed 20 consecutive passes dating to last season.

 

 

Juniata / @JuniataFootball / The Eagles were outscored by nationally-ranked Johns Hopkins, 31-3, in the second quarter in a 52-17 defeat in Baltimore. WR Kirby Breault (Elizabethtown, PA / Elizabethtown) grabbed six passes for 116 yards and now has five straight 100-yard games. RB Matt Lehr (Dover, PA / York Catholic) carried 19 times for 119 yards with a touchdown. LB Ryan Bologa (Douglassville, PA / Daniel Boone) had six tackles and scored his second touchdown of the season on a 31-yard fumble return. PK Kevin Bonalle (Lebanon, PA / Cedar Crest) has been perfect on placements this season (4 FG, 19 PAT). He has made his last six FG attempts.

 

 

McDaniel / @McDanielFBall / The Green Terror battled back after spotting Gettysburg a 21-0 lead but fell short in a 38-23 contest at the Battlefield. McDaniel was looking for its first back-to-back wins since 2010. QB Will Koester (Purcellville, VA / Woodgrove) threw for 256 yards and three TDs – a 5-yarder to Tyler DeMent (Olney, MD / Northwest), a 31-yard strike to Andre Henry (Frederick, MD / Urbana) and an 8-yarder to Bamasa Bailor (Carlisle, PA / Carlisle). DB Keegan Romanoff (Hanover, PA / New Oxford) led the defense with eight tackles and a forced fumble.

 

 

Moravian / @MoravianFB / The Greyhounds rallied from a 12-point halftime deficit to defeat Ursinus, 33-32. PK Kenny Kane (Belvidere, NJ / Belvidere) booted a 23-yard field goal with 3:54 left for the winning points. QB Mike Hayes (Philadelphia, PA/Chestnut Hill Academy) completed a school-record 33 passes on 51 attempts for 274 yards and a TD. He set the program's career record for completions (430), while also rushing 12 times for 68 yards and two scores. WR Aaron Hudson (Bear, DE / Caravel Academy) snared nine balls for 79 yards and a score. RB Chris Negron (Allentown, PA/Freedom) became the school's career rushing leader and now has 3,897 yards. DL Jorden Stout (Berwick, PA / Berwick) scored his third rushing TD of the season on just his fourth carry. LB Ed Delia (Lebanon, NJ / North Hunterdon) led the defense with 17 tackles, while DB Nick Zambelli (Allentown, PA / Parkland) had eight stops and a pick as the 'Hounds held Ursinus to just five rushing yards.

 

 

Muhlenberg / @DigInMules / The Mules rebounded from its loss to Johns Hopkins with a hard-fought 33-30 victory at Susquehanna. QB Nick Palladino (Millstone Twp., NJ/Allentown) threw for 270 yards and two TDs and surpassed the 10,000-yard mark in total offense. He broke the Centennial career mark for touchdowns and now has 95 in his career. RB Nick Savant (Hellertown, PA / Saucon Valley) broke the century mark for the fourth straight game, picking up 131 yards, while also catching a 73-yard scoring pass. WR Nick Lamb (Philadelphia, PA / Penn Charter) caught a 75-yard TD pass and returned a kickoff 91 yards for another score. He is believed to be the first 'Berg player to two scoring plays of 75+ yards in the same game. DB John Feaster (Washington Twp., NJ / Bergen Catholic) had a pick-six of 12 yards to open the Mule scoring.  

 

 

Susquehanna / @SURiverHawksFB / The River Hawks stood toe-to-toe with Muhlenberg before succumbing 33-30. The lead changed hands nine times in the contest. DB Ryan Ganard (Galloway, NJ / Absegami)'s 24-yard interception midway through the final period gave Susquehanna a 30-27 lead. WR Tommy Bluj (Parsippany, NJ / Parsippany Hills) caught eight passes for 138 yards and two TDs. RB Cameron Ott (Montoursville, PA / Montoursville) ran for 100 yards for the second straight game, picking up 106. LB Connor Thompson (Long Valley, NJ / West Morris Central) led the defense with 10 tackles and forced and recovered a fumble. PK Evan Argiriou (Kinnelon, NJ / Kinnelon) booted three FGs (39, 33, 20 yards) and has six in his last three games.

 

 

Ursinus / @UrsinusFootball / The Bears dropped a heartbreaker to Moravian, 33-32. QB QB Sal Bello (Phoenixville, PA / Archbishop Carroll) set a program single-game record with 39 completions on 52 attempts for 396 yards. WR Carmen Fortino (King of Prussia, PA / Upper Merion) snared 12 of the passes for 143 yards and a touchdown. DB Jack Spingler (Langhorne, PA / Neshaminy) and LB Tim Rafter (Springfield, PA / St. Joseph's Prep) each had pick-sixes. PK Nicholas Ford (Edgewater Park, NJ / Burlington City) booted a pair of field goals.
