Tammaro, Granahan, Spirt Named Players of Week

LANCASTER, PA – Johns Hopkins junior quarterback David Tammaro (Chantilly, VA/Chantilly) has been named the Centennial Conference Offensive Player of the Week for his performance in Saturday's 47-3 win at Moravian it was announced today.  This is the first time this season that Tammaro has been honored by the Centennial.
 
Tammaro fueled Hopkins' victory over the Greyhounds as he was 29-of-42 for 420 yards and four touchdowns and also rushed five times for 19 yards and another score.  The 420 yards passing is the second-highest total of his career and the seventh-best effort in school history.  In addition, his 439 yards of total offense are the third-highest total of his career and rank as the ninth-best total in school history.
 
A Second Team All-Centennial Conference selection last season, Tammaro reached four milestones in the win at Moravian as his 420 passing yards push his career total to 4,056, while his 439 yards of total offense boost his career mark to 4,383.  He is just the eighth player in school history to reach 4,000 career passing yards and just the 10th to top 4,000 yards of total offense.  Tammaro also went over 300 career completions (318) and his final pass attempt of the game was the 500th of career.

LANCASTER, Pa. – Franklin & Marshall senior defensive end Joe Granahan was named the Centennial Conference (CC) Defensive Player of the Week announced on Sunday. The honor is the first for Granahan this season and the second for a member of the F&M football team.

Granahan (Garnet Valley, Pa. / Garnet Valley)was the leader of a Diplomat defensive effort that held McDaniel to just 61 rushing and 216 total yards in a 21-14 victory. He registered nine tackles, including five solo stops, with 2.5 sacks, 3.5 tackles for loss and a forced fumble.


For the third time in his career, junior Todd Spirt of the Muhlenberg football team was named Centennial Conference special teams player of the week.

Spirt booted three field goals in the Mules' 37-34 win at Susquehanna, including the game-winning 37-yarder in overtime on the final play of the game. His other field goals covered 27 and 37 yards, making him the first Mule to boot two field goals of longer than 35 yards in the same game since 2014.

Spirt also was perfect on four extra-point tries. The 13 points increased Spirt's career total to 129, moving him into fourth place on the Mules' all-time list.

Spirt's final boot gave Muhlenberg its sixth all-time overtime win, but its first to end on a field goal. Here's a rundown of the final plays in the Mules' six OT wins:
