Defensive Player of the Week 10/31/16

Torrence was a big part of two shutout victories for the Bears, anchoring a defense that allowed only eight shots total in victories over Catholic (4-0) and Muhlenberg (2-0). The senior added an assist on the goal that gave Ursinus a 2-0 lead over the Mules, which ultimately clinched hosting rights for the CC semifinals and championship. The Bears have surrendered just 19 goals in 18 games this season.

Danielle Rette stopped all five shots from the Johns Hopkins' attack to key a crucial 1-0 win for the Fords in their only action this week. Rette now has three shutouts on the season.

Bodo started all three games as F&M recorded three shutouts and allowed just 10 shots in a 3-0 week. The sophomore also got it done on the offensive end, scoring the game-winning goal in Monday's 3-0 win over McDaniel.

Went 2-0 with a 0.61 goals against average and a .857 save percentage for the Shorewomen this past week. Made six saves and the only goal she allowed was on a penalty stroke in a 3-1 win over visiting Lynchburg on Saturday. She made three saves while the score was 1-0, including a pair in the first minute of the second half and then made two more stops with WC ahead 2-0. Helped Washington keep Bryn Mawr from taking a shot in a 6-0 win on Tuesday.

Emma Rosenthal, Jr, GK, Muhlenberg
Doylestown, Pa./Central Bucks East
Rosenthal did not allow a goal in 127:30 as Muhlenberg shut out DeSales and Johns Hopkins to remain undefeated for the season. She made eight saves in the two games, including four in a 1-0 CC shutout of Johns Hopkins.
Defensive Player of the Week 9/19/16
Heather Meeder, Fr, GK, Dickinson
Baltimore, Md./Notre Dame Prep
Meeder had two strong outings in her first two collegiate games, posting a shutout and leading the Red Devils to a win over Haverford in the Centennial Conference opener. Meeder made three saves to shutout Shenandoah and turned back five shots on Saturday as Dickinson held off a late push by Haverford, 2-1.
Defensive Player of the Week 9/12/16
Haley Mowery, Jr, GK, Gettysburg
Mechanicsburg, Pa./Northern
Mowery posted 18 saves as the Bullets split a pair of non-conference games. She posted six stops in a one-goal loss to No. 19 Catholic. Mowery beat the heat with a dozen stops in an 8-1 win over Cabrini. For the week, she posted a GAA of 2.50 and a save percentage of .783.
Defensive Player of the Week 9/6/16
Claudia Theriault, Sr, Muhlenberg
West Deptford, N.J./West Deptford
Theriault made a defensive save in each game as Muhlenberg defeated Scranton and Elizabethtown, two Landmark Conference playoff teams last year, to open a season 2-0 for the first time since 2005. Both of the defensive saves came with the Mules ahead 2-0 and proved to be crucial when both opponents eventually scored to make it 2-1. Theriault led a defense that allowed only 12 shots in the two games.
