LANCASTER, Pa. -- Franklin & Marshall swept the three major player awards while Bryn Mawr's Victor Brady repeated as Coach of the Year to headline the 2019 All-Centennial Conference Field Hockey Team.
The F&M trio of Lily Mynott, Melissa Gula and Darby Klopp were selected as the Offensive Player of the Year, Defensive Player of the Year, and Rookie of the Year, respectively, in a vote among the conference head coaches. Mynott is the fifth F&M honoree to receive Offensive Player of the Year recognition, while Gula is the first Diplomats to win Defensive Player of the Year. Klopp becomes the second F&M player to earn the conference's top rookie honor.
Bryn Mawr's Brady secured his second straight Coach of the Year award after leading the Owls to the best season in program history. Bryn Mawr posted a 14-4 record and claimed its first-ever spot in the CC Tournament as the No. 4 seed. Brady becomes just the second Centennial head coach to earn consecutive Coach of the Year awards, joining former Ursinus head coach and current Director of Athletics Laura Moliken (COY from 2008-10) in that elite club.
A total of 16 players were repeat selections to the All-Centennial squad. Johns Hopkins' Katie McErlean earned All-CC distinction for the fourth-straight season, F&M's Erin Coverdale landed on the first team for the third-straight season, and Washington College's Kailyn Brandt, Ursinus' Erin Saybolt, Haverford's Caroline Aronowitz, Dickinson's Jillian Beemon, Bryn Mawr's Sara Rilatt, and Gettysburg's Julia Soares and Emma Bertrando also became three-time All-CC honorees.
Gettysburg has 47 first-team All-Centennial selections in the 27-year history of the conference. Johns Hopkins and Ursinus are tied for second with 44, followed by Franklin & Marshall (43), Washington College (33), Swarthmore (20), Dickinson (19), McDaniel and Muhlenberg (17), Haverford (14) and Bryn Mawr (6).
