LANCASTER, Pa. – Kevin Yrizarry (Owings Mills, Md./Owings Mills), a senior on the McDaniel men's basketball team, has been named the Centennial Conference(CC) Player of the Week for the week of Jan. 2-8.
Yrizarry led the Green Terror (6-6, 2-3 CC) to a 2-0 start to 2017. He averaged 16.0 points per game, including 18 in a 60-54 win over Franklin & Marshall on Saturday. He also averaged 8.0 rebounds per game. He recorded a double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds in a 77-48 win over Emmanuel on Tuesday. On Saturday, he added four assists and three steals. He shot 53.8 percent from the floor on the week, hitting 14 of his 26 field-goal attempts.
For the season, he is second on the team in scoring at 10.4 points per game and leads the team in rebounding at 7.3 rebounds per game.
