Johns Hopkins was selected as the Centennial Conference men's basketball preseason favorite to defend its title in a poll of men's basketball coaches and sports information directors.
The Blue Jays edged Swarthmore by three points, 155-152. Hopkins received 11 of a possible 18 first-place ballots (teams not permitted to vote for themselves), while the Garnet snagged the other nine firsts. Franklin & Marshall was third with 122 points, while Ursinus (110) and Dickinson (106) rounded out the top five.
The regular season begins on Thursday, November 8.
