Keith Euker Named Men's Lacrosse Coach at McDaniel

Keith Euker has been named McDaniel College's head men's lacrosse coach, announced by Director of Athletics Paul Moyer on Wednesday.

"When we began this search, we believed we could attract a strong pool of candidates and we did," Moyer said. "During the process, Keith quickly emerged at the top of our list and after his interview and campus visit we knew he was our selection. Keith brings a wealth of knowledge in all aspects of the game to our program. His experience as a coach who has had success at each of his stops, in Division I, Division III and in highly competitive club programs speaks for itself. I am confident he will have the same level of success here and continue to build our program into a top-level competitor within the Centennial Conference and nationally."

Euker comes to McDaniel after spending the last two years as the top assistant at Denison. In his two years there, the Big Red compiled a 32-5 record and top-20 rankings in both seasons.

"I'd like to thank Director of Athletics Paul Moyer and the entire search committee for this incredible opportunity," Euker said. "I feel very fortunate to be here. McDaniel has a strong tradition of lacrosse and provides student-athletes with an excellent education combined with top athletics facilities. My wife and I are very excited to be part of the McDaniel community."

In his first year, Euker was part of the most successful season in Denison lacrosse history, winning the North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) and advancing to the NCAA Div. III quarterfinals. The 2014 squad set program records for wins (19), goals (320) and assists (189) and led the nation in scoring defense, allowing just 5.8 goals per game. The offense (16.0 gpg) and faceoff unit (67.8 win percentage) both ranked fifth nationally.

In 2015, the Big Red finished fifth in Division III in scoring margin (7.7 gpg), 16th in points per game (21.9 ppg) and 19th in scoring defense (6.8 gpg).

In his two seasons in Granville, Euker coached 18 All-NCAC honorees, including the 2014 Rookie of the Year and Defensive Player of the Year, and five USILA All-Americans.

Prior to his arrival at the Division III level, Euker spent two years as the goalie coach at the University of Michigan. As part of the staff for the Wolverines' inaugural season at the Division I level, he coached the goalies. In 2013, he coached freshman keeper Gerald Logan to a national-best 15.07 saves per game and Eastern College Athletic Conference All-Rookie team honors.

Prior to his time in Ann Arbor, Euker spent two years at Missouri (MCLA) as its head coach. Euker guided the squad to a 21-11 record in two years and was named Great Rivers Lacrosse Coach of the Year in 2011. He coached three Men's Collegiate Lacrosse Association All-Americans and produced 17 all-conference honorees, including the 2011 Offensive Player of the Year.

A Baltimore native, Euker returns to his home state. He was a first-team All-Metro selection as a senior at Loyola Blakefield before playing his collegiate career at Loyola under legendary coach Dave Cottle. As a senior, he helped the Greyhounds to a No. 1 national ranking and NCAA semifinal appearance.

Euker graduated from Loyola in 1999 with a bachelor of arts in communication with a concentration in public relations.

Euker officially assumes his duties on July 20.
