Men’s Swimmer of the Week - February 6, 2017

Parker went undefeated over three distance races while reclaiming his own school record in the 1000-freestyle, helping the Bullets to a 2-0 week. He started by winning the 500-free (4:50.79) in Gettysburg's 116-86 victory over Dickinson, then swept the 500 (4:55.53) and 1000 (9:44.60) in the team's 148-111 victory at Franklin & Marshall. With his time in the 1000, he broke the school record for the second time in eight days, helping the Bullets clinch an undefeated season (9-0, 6-0 CC) and the Centennial Conference dual-meet title.

Men’s Swimmer of the Week - January 30, 2017

Liam Fitzstevens three individual victories against Gettysburg on Saturday, notching wins in the 200 back, fly and IM. His time of 1:59.42 in the 200 fly was a new personal best. 200 back: 1:55.87 200 Fly: 1:59.42 200 IM: 1:58.32.


Swimmer of the Week - January 23, 2017

Adam Dias, Fr, Gettysburg
Wilmington, Del./Charter School of Wilmington

 Dias won three individual events to help lead the 20th-ranked Bullets to a 140-122 victory over Mary Washington. He touched first in the 100-breaststroke (1:00.25), 200-breaststroke (2:12.39), and 200-IM (1:59.72) versus an Eagle squad that entered the meet 6-1. Dias helped the Bullets stay undefeated at 6-0.


Swimmer of the Week - January 16, 2017

Woodstock, Md./McDonogh

Lang began 2017 with a bang, earning three individual victories as F&M thumped Susquehanna 174-88 on Sunday afternoon. The junior opened with a win in the 100-yard breaststroke (59.86) as the Diplomats swept the two three spots in the race. His time of 2:15.78 was also good for victory in the 200-yard breaststroke, before finishing his night by leading another sweep in the 200-yard IM, taking first in 2:02.16.

 

Swimmer of the Week - December 5, 2016

Ty Dougherty, Jr, Gettysburg
West Chester, Pa./Salesianum School (Del.)

Dougherty won five races, earned three NCAA B-cuts, and set one pool record at the Gettysburg Invitational. Individually, he captured the 50-freestyle (20.42), 100-freestyle (44.97), and 100-breaststroke (56.17), securing B-cuts in all three events while lowering his own pool record in the 100-breast. In the relays, he swam on both the 400-freestyle (3:04.18) and 200-freestyle (1:23.71) teams that finished first. In addition, he helped the 200-medley relay place second (1:33.81) and the 400-medley relay come in third (3:26.78). Dougherty's efforts helped Gettysburg finish a close second among six teams, as Mary Washington edged out the Bullets by just eight points.

 

Swimmer of the Week - November 21, 2016

Leyens continued his impressive debut season by contributing to six wins in a pair of Centennial duals. Against McDaniel, he swam the anchor leg of the winning 200 medley relay (1:41.12) and took top honors in the 100 free (47.60). He picked up four wins in a win over Ursinus, taking top honors in both the 200 free (1:43.71) and 500 free (4:52.55) and helping the Bullets pick up wins in the 200 medley relay (1:36.61) and 400 free relay (3:12.74). His two individual wins against Ursinus came by a combined five seconds. 

 

Swimmer of the Week - November 14, 2016

Jeffrey Tse, Soph, Swarthmore
Ellicott, Md./Centennial

Jeffrey Tse helped Swarthmore to a 174-88 win over Washington College on Saturday by winning three individual events and one team relay. Tse set a new school record with a win in the 100 IM (52.21), won the 100 back (53.31) and the 200 breaststroke (2:13.37). He had a time of 52.08 in the 100 back as part of the 400 medley relay team.

 


Co-Swimmer of the Week - November 7, 2016

Ty Dougherty, Jr, Gettysburg
West Chester, Pa./Salesianum School

Dougherty opened the season with a bang, earning four victories and a pair of pool records in Gettysburg's 160-102 victory at Washington College. He started the day by swimming the breaststroke leg of the winning 200-medley relay (1:37.28), then won both the 50-freestyle (20.89), and 100-freestyle (46.74), breaking pool records in both events. Dougherty wrapped up the day by leading off for the 400-freestyle relay team that won in 3:14.09.

Co-Swimmer of the Week - November 7, 2016

Jeffrey Tse, So, Swarthmore
Ellicott City, Md./Centennial

Jeffrey Tse won the 100 backstroke (51.56), the 200 breaststroke (2:11.05) and the 200 IM (1:57.6) and was part of the first-place 200 medley relay team (1:35.83) in a win over Franklin & Marshall on Saturday.


Men's Swimmer of the Week - October 31, 2016

Andrew Steele, Sr, Swarthmore
Katy, Texas/Seven Lakes

Steele won the 50 and 100 free in a win over McDaniel on Saturday with times of 21.70 and 48.38.
