Men’s Tennis Player of the Week – April 24, 2017

Powell was 4-0 as the 27th-ranked Garnet picked up two victories to remain undefeated against conference opponents. He won 6-1, 6-1 and 7-5, 6-1 against Muhlenberg and Franklin & Marshall at third and fourth singles, respectively. Powell teamed with Ari Cepelewicz for a win against the Mules and paired with Mark Fallati for a dramatic, 9-8(5) at first doubles versus F&M, overcoming a 4-7 deficit at one point.

Men’s Tennis Player of the Week – April 17, 2017
Emerson Walsh, Sr, Johns Hopkins

Walsh went 2-0 in singles and 2-1 in doubles last week as Hopkins went 2-1. On Friday against Emory, he lost a tough 8-6 match at second doubles against the #15 team in the region. He then won 6-4, 6-3 at fourth singles against the Eagles. Walsh won 6-4 at second doubles against Haverford on Saturday morning. Later that day, he won 8-3 at second doubles versus Christopher Newport. Walsh then won 6-1, 6-1 at second singles.
Men’s Tennis Player of the Week - April 10, 2017
Jeremy Dubin, Sr, Johns Hopkins
Southampton, N.Y./Southampton
Dubin went 3-0 in at second singles and 3-0 at first doubles in helping Johns Hopkins to a 2-1 week. He lost a combined one game in Hopkins' win at McDaniel on Wednesday with an 8-0 win in doubles and a 6-0, 6-1 win in singles. On Saturday at Muhlenberg, Dubin and classmate Mike Buxbaum won 8-1 in doubles. He then won 6-3, 6-0 in singles as the Blue Jays won 9-0 over the host Mules. Dubin and Buxbaum upset the top-ranked doubles team in the Atlantic South with an 8-6 win in doubles at Carnegie Mellon on Sunday. Dubin then came from behind to beat the fourth-ranked singles player 4-6, 6-4, 6-1.
Men’s Tennis Player of the Week - April 3, 2017
John Larkin, Sr, Swarthmore College
Cincinnati, Ohio/Seven Hills
Larkin was 6-0 in last week as the Garnet earned a trio of wins, including a victory over 16th-ranked Mary Washington. The second singles player picked up 6-1, 6-1 and 6-2, 6-1 victories against Ursinus and Dickinson, respectively, before a 6-2, 6-4 win over his opponent from UMW. Larkin also teamed with Blake Oetting for three wins at third doubles, highlighted by an 8-6 triumph against the Eagles.
Men’s Tennis Player of the Week - March 27, 2017
Mark Fallati, Jr, Swarthmore College
Larchmont, N.Y./Mamaroneck
Fallati won both of his matches in a 5-4 victory over No. 38 Stevens Tech on Sunday. The junior teamed with Josh Powell for an 8-2 rout at first doubles and won 7-6(4), 6-1 in the first singles spot.
Men’s Tennis Player of the Week - March 13, 2017
Jake Sandler, Soph, Washington College
Lynbrook, N.Y./Lynbrook
Had the match-clinching point at No. 2 singles in the team's 5-4 win over Berry on Sunday in Florida. He clinched the match with a 3-6, 6-4, 10-6, comeback win over Griffin Davis. In doubles, he teamed up with Chris Salisbury to down Davis and Matthew Blakely, 8-5, at No. 1.
Men's Tennis Co-Players of the Week - March 6, 2017
Shawn Diniz, Jr, Dickinson
Upper Saddle River, N.J./Northern Highlands
Diniz earned points in the top singles and doubles flights as the Red Devils posted a 9-0 win at Washington & Jefferson on Sunday. He posted a (6-4, 7-5) win in singles and claimed doubles, 9-7.
Chris Salisbury, Soph, Washington College
Old Greenwich, Conn./Greenwich
Chris Salisbury won at both No. 1 singles and doubles in a 9-0 win over St. Mary's on Saturday. At doubles, he team with Jake Sandler to post an 8-3 win over the duo of Jon Gorel and Connor McKissick. In singles, he downed Gorel, 6-2, 6-4, at No. 1.
Men's Tennis Player of the Week - February 27, 2017
David Perez, Jr, Johns Hopkins
Palmetto Bay, Fla./Carol Morgan School
Perez won both his doubles and singles matches on Sunday as Johns Hopkins beat host Washington & Lee, 6-3. He won 8-2 to earn the first doubles point of the match and he clinched the Blue Jays' win with a 7-6 (5), 6-4 win at fourth singles.
Men's Tennis Athlete of the Week - February 20, 2017
Zack Novick, Sr, Washington College
Cape May Court House, N.J./Middle Township
Zack Novick won all 20 points he played in Sunday's 9-0 victory over Catholic in the team's season opener. He teamed up with Justin Panepinto for an 8-0 win at No. 2 doubles over Catholic's Ted Tiu and Jack Emerick. In singles, he topped Rob Alexander, 6-0, 6-0, at No. 2.
