Gettysburg's Hinds Selected Field Athlete of the Week

Hinds shattered his own school record and the Centennial Conference record in the discus with a heave of 172-6 at the Penn Relays. As the only Division III competitor in a field of 25, Hinds registered an impressive eighth-place finish, placing behind only throwers from South Carolina, Brown, Florida State (two competitors), Connecticut, Tennessee, and Monmouth. He unleashed his record-breaking throw on his first attempt, adding nearly nine feet to his previous school record of 163-10. He also bettered a 10-year-old Centennial Conference record of 168-0 that was held by Tom Reynolds of Haverford.

Graves won the high jump event (2.02m) at the Widener Invitational on Saturday. The senior's jump is the best in the Centennial Conference this season, and just missed his personal record by one-tenth of a meter. The senior also placed second in the triple jump (13.76m) and nabbed his third top five finish of the weekend after placing fourth (6.58m) in the long jump.

Hinds shattered the Gettysburg record in winning the discus at the Messiah Invitational on Friday. With a heave of 163-10, he added seven feet and seven inches to the previous record that he shared with Glenn Cain, who originally set the record in 2005 before Hinds tied it earlier this year at the Little Three Meet. Hinds nearly equaled his record on Saturday at the Bucknell Invitational, where he placed fifth among 38 Division I, II, and III competitors with a toss of 160-8. Hinds also placed seventh among 30 athletes in the shot put at Messiah with a career outdoor-best of 42-8.

In his first throw of the season and his only attempt of the meet, Rosenthal landed the javelin at 197 feet, 11 inches - a personal best and the eighth-farthest throw in Division III this season - at the Muhlenberg Invitational. The two-time Centennial Conference silver medalist and 2014 NCAA qualifier finished first among collegiate competitors.

Bauer recorded the 10th-best javelin mark in Division III history at the Lafayette 7-Way Invitational. On his first attempt of the outdoor season, he unleashed a throw of 68.64 meters (225-2) - the best in Division III this year by more than 17 feet. The two-time All-American broke his own school record by more than 10 feet and eclipsed a Centennial Conference record that had stood since 1996. Bauer won the event by 26 feet, 11 inches, in a field of 14 that included nine athletes from Divisions I and II.

Kozloski earned two first-place finishes for F&M at the Little Three Meet on Saturday. The sophomore won the javelin throw with a distance of 160'-11.1" and he also won the triple jump with a mark of 41'-4.1".
