Gettysburg's Hinds Selected Field Athlete of the Week

Hinds placed second among 46 Division II and III competitors in the discus at the Shippensburg University Paul Kaiser Classic. With a heave of 159-11, he was the top Division III finisher. He also came in 21st in a field of 42 in the shot put (43- 1/2). In addition, he competed in the College Men's Discus at the Penn Relays. In an event composed almost entirely of Division I athletes, he finished 16th in a field of 25 with a throw of 153-2.

 

Notebook:

Swarthmore freshman Daniel Belkin had the second-longest triple jump in the Centennial this year with a mark of 13.23m at the Lions Invitational. He also posted a long jump mark of 6.2m and cleared 1.82m in the high jump.

Muhlenberg sophomore Daniel Cano threw the discus 153-1 at the Lehigh Games, improving his season best by almost six feet and moving into second place on the Centennial Conference performance list. Cano, the 2014 CC champ in the discus, finished third overall and first among Division III competitors.

Franklin & Marshall sophomore Logan Lewis represented the Diplomats at the 122nd Penn Relays on Saturday, competing in the college division shot put. The sophomore marked a heave of 15.92 meters to take 15th out of 42 in a field composed primarily of Division I schools.

Hinds threw the discus 166 feet and two inches to finish fourth among 20 competitors at the Princeton University Larry Ellis Invitational. Taking on Division I competition, Hinds registered the third-best performance of his career and moved into fifth in the national rankings.

Conley won the decathalon at the Mount Multi Meet with a score of of 6394 points. He had several outstanding results in the 10 events. Conley's 1.87 meter (6' 1 1/2") high jump and 6.87 meter (22' 6 1/2") long jump both lead the conference standings as does his overall decathlon score.

Bartnett took home the pole vault crown at the Mason Spring Invitational, hosted by George Mason on Saturday. The junior successfully cleared the 5.20m mark to win the event against all Division I opponents.

Kozloski won two events on Saturday as the Diplomats competed at the Little Three Meet. He won the javelin with a toss of 51.05 meters, and added a second gold in the triple as jump as his leap of 12.43 meters was good for first place.

Boucher broke the Johns Hopkins javelin record, which he set last year, by more than five meters at the Maryland Invite on Saturday. His 59.79m mark is the best in the Centennial by more than eight meters and ranks fourth in Division III this season.

Kozloski posted a pair of second-place finishes to lead F&M in the field events at the Dr. Jack M. Toms Open hosted by Lynchburg. In the javelin, his toss of 50.61 meters earned him silver. He again finished as runner-up in the triple jump, springing 12.09 meters.
