Henry Woods, Haverford

In the 23 years that the Centennial Conference has conducted a men's cross country championship, one program has been dominant winning 20 titles during the stretch - Haverford.

So it should not come as a surprise to anyone that the Fords are the prohibitive favorite to win title #21 on their home course on Saturday at 12 noon in the 24th edition of the Centennial championship.

Only Dickinson (2008-09) and Johns Hopkins (2013) have knocked the Fords from their customary perch and the Red Devils and Blue Jays will be the main threats this weekend.

Haverford, ranked 15th nationally, is led by senior Jimmy Gorman (Metuchen, NJ / St. Joseph's) and junior Henry Woods (New York, NY / Dalton School). Gorman finished second at last year's Conference meet to earn first-team All-Centennial honors (top seven). Woods finished 10th to receive second-team All-CC laurels. Sophomore Graham Peet (Vashon, WA / The Northwest School) placed eighth a year ago and received Centennial Rookie of the Year recognition. Also keep an eye on sophs Ryan Herlihy (Dennisville, NJ / Middle Township) and Greg Morgan (Hollidaysburg, PA / Episcopal).

Johns Hopkins is ranked 30th in the latest USTFCCCA poll. The Blue Jays are led by junior Louis Levine (Frederick, MD / Gov. Thomas Johnson) who earned first-team All-CC honors last fall with a fourth-place finish. Senior Schaffer Ochstein (Dallas, TX / Episcopal School of Dallas) and sophomore Scott Pourshalchi (Roslyn, NY / Roslyn) will also contend for All-Centennial recognition.

Mason Hepner, Dickinson

Dickinson is receiving votes and is just outside the top-35 in this week's poll. The Red Devils welcome back senior Mason Hepner (Mount Joy, PA / Manheim Central) who finished 13th last year to earn second-team All-Conference honors. Sophomores Eric Herrmann (Saint James, NY / Smithtown) and Duncan Hopkins (Lancaster, PA / McCaskey) also also contend for medals as one of the top 14 finishers.

Ben Taber, Gettysburg

A pair of seniors are also back looking for their second straight first-team All-Centennial finish - Gettysburg's Ben Taber (Durham, CT / Coginchaug) and Muhlenberg's Jaryd Flank (Easton, PA / Wilson Area). Flank finished third last year, while Taber came in sixth.

Others to keep an eye on include Franklin & Marshall senior Michael Whalen (Cresskill, NJ / Bergen Catholic), McDaniel senior Jim Heilman (Lutherville, MD / Baltimore Lutheran), Swarthmore senior John Gagnon (Clarksville, GA / Habersham Central), and Ursinus junior Joseph Iuliucci (Haddon Township, NJ / Haddon Township).
