Gettysburg Softball Claims Fifth CC Title

Gettysburg Softball Claims Fifth CC Title

GETTYSBURG, Pa.  The Gettysburg College softball team clinched the 2021 Centennial Conference title, the fifth time in program history the Bullets won the CC crown, after compiling the best regular season winning percentage among conference teams. With the CC title, Gettysburg earns the conference automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.

The Bullets captured this year's conference title based on having the best winning percentage of .700 (7-3 CC record) in regular-season play. The Centennial Conference decided there would be no championship tournament due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Gettysburg has now claimed five CC titles overall with two occurring in the last four years. The team will also be making its fourth trip to the national stage.

Centennial Conference Executive Director Portia Hoeg presented the trophy to Gettysburg prior to its non-conference doubleheader vs. McDaniel on Sunday. The Bullets swept the twinbill, pushing their overall record to 11-3 this spring.

The Bullets will find out who they will play in the NCAA tournament when the selection show airs on Monday, May 17 at 1 p.m. on NCAA.com.
